At the Akron Campus, the adult choirs and orchestra are communities of vocalists and instrumentalists who come together to offer their musical gifts to serve the church in worship leading. They are also a place to experience the beauty of Christian community where we care for each other, grow in Christ, and process life together.

The orchestra welcomes volunteer artists who play symphonic instruments (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion) and have a passion to use their gifts in the church. The orchestra plays weekly at the 9:00am Classic Service and rehearses Wednesdays at 6:30pm September though May.

There are two new ways to be involved:

1. “Choir Classic” leads worship weekly at the 9:00am Classic Service with standard choral literature, beloved hymns, and Chapel favorites.

2. “Praise Choir” leads periodically at the 10:40 service, singing exciting pop/rock and gospel choir style vocals.

6:30pm Wednesday is “Choir Classic” rehearsal, and “Praise Choir” as scheduled. See Wednesdays and Sundays for a complete schedule.

The orchestra and choirs do not require a formal musical audition but we do seek teammates who know Christ and are passionate about worshipping Him. Musicians of all skill levels are welcome—though obviously, orchestra requires at least moderate proficiency and experience on your instrument.

In addition, choirs and orchestra combine with those from the Green Campus for seasonal concerts and events. There will typically be additional rehearsals for these special events, typically on Sunday afternoons.
