» Artist Workshop | Like to draw or paint? Is the camera your medium? Clay more your thing? Graphic design? Join us and bring your supplies. Judy Huber organizes this group of artists who meet periodically and prepare works of art. The gallery is then displayed in the Guest Connections Room at both campuses. » Flute Choir | A group of flute players who love to play and worship God through the flute! Meets every other Monday in the Harvest Room (Akron Campus) from 7:30-9:00pm. They are open to anyone who plays the flute at an intermediate level or above. Even if you have not played for a long time, you are invited to join them and reacquaint yourself with your flute. They play class C to A music (easier to more difficult)—classical, secular, church and seasonal music. The Flute Choir plays periodically for preludes, nursing homes and other outside organizations. » Northeast Ohio Jazz Orchestra (NEOJO) | Formerly the Chapel Big Band, this group of musicians, comprised of brass instruments, saxophones and rhythm section, plays a wide range of jazz, big band, latin, swing and pop tunes. They rehearse Mondays in the Choir Room (Green Campus) from 7:30–9:00pm. The NEOJO plays periodic concerts in churches, nursing homes, outdoor venues, and swing dances for Akron Pregnancy Services. » HeartStrings | A Suzuki-based violin program that promotes learning by ear with an emphasis on serving, worshipping and praising God. Students meet with an instructor for 1/2 hour lessons and group playing opportunities are also provided. Rental violins are available and lesson times are filling now. Ages 4 and up.
